Welcome to our farm

Hello! I'm Karen and I'm in charge of the Facebook Page and the Website. This is my family - Rob, my husband, who is the full time farmer, and our two boys - farmers in training. Rob's mother, Georgina, also lives with us on the farm.

Rob is the third generation of his family to live and farm here, and before that his ancestors farmed near Scunthorpe for many generations. I'm also from a farming family based in North Yorkshire, so farming is very much in our blood.

We farm around 250acres of mainly permanent grassland with a couple of fields of arable to grow spring barley to feed our herd.

Our beef suckler herd comprises of 90 breeding cows, 3 bulls and approximately 110 calves and store cattle (this varies based on the time of year).

We love our farm and our life here although it's often all hands on deck with the work - and sometimes the work can be frustrating or even upsetting when things go wrong with the cows (or the weather!).

On Facebook we share our daily ups and downs on the farm to give a flavour of what farm life is really like (although I have to censor Robs language when it goes wrong ).
