Home reared top quality beef direct from the farmer

Newball Manor Farm is a small traditional family farm set in the beautiful countryside of the Lincolnshire Limewoods, just outside of Lincoln. Our family have farmed here for three generations and we hope that our sons will want to take on the farm when they are old enough too.

We have a beef suckler herd with Continental Limousin bulls and Native breed cows including Lincolnshire Red, Aberdeen Angus, Hereford, British Blue and South Devon breeds.  Native breeds are slower growing and therefore have additional marbling in the beef which improves the flavour.

Nature takes its course between the bulls and the cows and 9 months later a beautiful calf is born and is raised by its mother until it is weaned around 9 months old. In the summer our animals are all out in the permanent pastures grassing on ecologically rich grasslands, some of which are also nationally protected historic sites too.

Our animals are fed a predominantly grass diet especially whilst in the pastures, and then on our home produced hay and silage during the winter when they are back home in the farmyard for shelter. In addition, we also grow a small amount of spring barley ourselves with low inputs to feed our animals. Occasionally we even treat our cows with some locally grown surplus potatoes which they really love!
